We are Raw Material Suppliers
Northstar is a privately owned mining company. We are fully permitted, bonded, and have been in production since the Northstar ore body was discovered in 2010. The land owned by Northstar contains more than one million tons of open pit mineable alumina ore reserves, suitable for a wide variety of applications including cement production. The Northstar ore body also contains known reserves of more than 250,000 tons of open pit mineable high grade HALLOYSITE clay ore and more than 250,000 tons of open pit mineable high grade iron ore. Our open pit mine is situated on 600 patented acres, adjacent to Applied Minerals, Inc. Dragon Mine. Northstar typically mines and sells between 200 and 500 tons of mine-run alumina ore per day to Utah based cement companies for the manufacture of Portland cement powder. Northstar is a reliable supplier of raw materials to companies that manufacture consumer products or market intermediate up-graded products to other companies. Through selective mining, Northstar can supply mine run ore containing: (1) High grade halloysite and kaolinite clays (2) Iron oxide minerals The Northstar lands are situated in Central Utah, 2 miles from a railroad loading facility, one mile from U.S. Highway 6, allowing for efficient transportation of material. Adequate water and electrical service is nearby. If a client wants to purchase mine run material and wants to process it with it's own process, Northstar can provide customers with nearby patented lands for construction of processing facilities on a favorable basis. And Northstar can provide processed material as a pure white powder with long, uniform nanotubes (Grade 1 Halloysite) or as a light tan powder, with low levels of iron oxides (Grade 2 Halloysite), with intact nanotubes, or as a light tan powder, with low levels of iron oxide and/or elements (i.e. Na, Ca) with a small percentage of broken tubules in the material/powder (Grade 3 Halloysite). We can help you determine which Grade is best for your application. |
